The President of the Alliance of Kosovo Business, Agim Shahini, tells Kosovo Online that the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina is under a kind of moratorium and that he expects progress in this process next year when, as he says, some key solutions will be reached.

He says that the dialogue will once again start from scratch after the elections in the United States.

“This is what both the Kosovo and Serbian sides want, and it is likely that a key agreement will then be reached that will secure peace for the citizens of Kosovo and Serbia,” Shahini believes.

He explains that the dialogue is on hold because Kosovo is approaching an election campaign, the US is also in campaign season, and new people will need to take positions in the EU after the elections.

“We have the Ohrid Agreement, which one side has already accepted, while the other has not. There is also a document Serbia sent to the EU stating that it does not fully accept the Ohrid Agreement. Following that, there was the Banjska incident, which is highly problematic. I believe that after the new elections in the US, the dialogue will once again start from scratch,” Shahini said.
