Shtuni: The State Department rarely uses the phrase "we strongly condemn"; Kurti crossed a red line

Security expert Adrian Shtuni said today that the State Department rarely used the phrase "we strongly condemn" and that such rhetoric indicated that Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, by causing tensions in the north, was leading Kosovo into international isolation, Gazeta Express reports.

Shtuni believes that the US has sent a clear message that Kurti has crossed a red line.

He reminds that the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken strongly condemned the actions of the Kosovo government, which, he says, unnecessarily caused tensions in the north, and warns that the unilateral moves of Pristina will have a negative impact on the bilateral relations between Kosovo and the US.

"You know how rarely the State Department uses expressions like 'we strongly condemn the actions of the government,' for example when North Korea conducts nuclear tests. That language can be used in private meetings, but if a public statement of that tone is made, then you have crossed a red line. That statement "It was not sent by an international organization or any non-governmental organization, but it was sent by the US State Department. So you have to ask yourself. Such a way of acting leads to isolation," Shtuni said.
