The Secretary General of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), Feridun Sinirlioğlu, who visited Belgrade yesterday, reaffirmed during meetings with Serbian officials the organization's continued commitment to regional stability and to supporting Serbia in implementing its reform agenda.

During his visit to Belgrade, Sinirlioğlu met with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, Prime Minister Djuro Macut, and Foreign Minister Marko Djuric.

According to an OSCE press release summarizing Sinirlioğlu’s visit, the discussions focused on the OSCE’s long-standing partnership with Serbia, the country’s reform priorities, and regional cooperation.

The Secretary General reaffirmed the organization's commitment to regional stability and its continued support for Serbia, including through the work of the OSCE Mission to Serbia.

“The Mission’s activities are aligned with the priorities defined by the Government of Serbia and are implemented in partnership with the Serbian authorities, independent institutions, the media, representatives of national minorities, the academic community, professional associations, and civil society organizations,” the statement said.

Sinirlioğlu stressed that he highly values the cooperation with Serbia and its institutions.

“I reaffirm our strong commitment to supporting Serbia’s reform priorities and to working together to advance security, democratic governance, the rule of law, and respect for human rights for the benefit of all citizens. Our Mission to Serbia works closely with field operations across South-Eastern Europe, strengthening cooperation across all three dimensions of security—politico-military, economic and environmental, and the human dimension. This contributes to the well-being of the entire region,” Sinirlioğlu said.
