Spahiu on the situation in Kosovo: A first-rate gaffe that hurts Kosovo a lot

Historian and columnist Nexhmedin Spahiu assessed for Lajmi that yesterday's assumption of the post of mayor in Zvecan, Zubin Potok and Leposavic was a "first-class blunder" that harms Kosovo.

Spahiu stated that the elections in North Mitrovica and taking the oath of the new mayor were organized properly, but he criticized the taking over of the post of mayor in three other northern municipalities.

"In the other three municipalities, it was exactly as it should not have been. It is a first-class gaffe that harms Kosovo a lot, which misses the chance offered to us by the USA, the EU and the war in Ukraine, to complete and bring to an end the sovereignty of Kosovo in its entire territory , in all municipalities", said Spahiu.

He criticized the actions of the new mayors, which he called "cowardly".

"The cowardly actions of these leaders, who did not have the courage to go and take the oath in the relevant facilities, expose the false patriotism of many people in Kosovo, who try to compensate for their patriotism by going to Boletin, Prekaz... Of course, the descendants of the Jashari family are patriots like those who fell as martyrs for Kosovo, they would stab them in the back behind Zubin Potok", Spahiu said.

He added that if the new mayors elected in the northern municipalities cannot be accommodated in appropriate facilities and cannot lead them, then he himself does not know what they can do.
