Stano: Borrell invited Kurti and Vucic to a meeting

The lead spokesperson for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Peter Stano, said that High EU Representative Josep Borrell had invited Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti to a meeting in Brussels and that the date would be announced soon, Koha reports.

"We have said several times that there will be a meeting between President Vucic and Prime Minister Kurti. High EU Representative Josep Borrell has already invited them to come to Brussels. The exact date of the meeting will be announced in due course," Stano told reporters.

Commissioner Varhelyi's spokesperson, Ana Pisonero, confirmed that today the commissioner had met with the Deputy Prime Minister of the Provisional Institutions of Pristina, Besnik Bislimi.

"Kosovo has publicly announced its intention to apply for EU membership. The European Commission cannot comment on that," she said.
