Following the takeover of the water treatment plant by the Regional Water Company "Mitrovica", the President of the Municipal Assembly of North Mitrovica, Nexhat Ugljanin, announced that the same fate awaits the waste collection company PUC "Standard", which operates within the Serbian system, Teve1 reports.

"All real estate and institutions that belong to the citizens should be managed by institutions and within the legal framework of the Republic of Kosovo. They should not be used by various groups or individuals, nor for unofficial services. Therefore, everything that is happening is positive, as it brings things within the legal framework of the Republic of Kosovo," stated the Mayor, Izmir Zeqiri.

He added that the Regional Water Company "Mitrovica" is already operating in the plant with its own teams.

"They have their own teams, fully equipped with technical staff specialized in water supply, water quality control, and water network management. The regional directorate has the necessary personnel," said Zeqiri.

According to the President of the Municipal Assembly of North Mitrovica, Nexhat Ugljanin, the same fate as the water treatment plant will befall another utility company.

"We are expecting requests from the mayor, which will be forwarded through the Assembly, as was the case with the water utility facilities. There are other facilities that need to come under municipal management, and here we are specifically talking about 'Standard', which functions as a waste management company. This is a process of functionalization, and the Assembly will adopt decisions for all these facilities to fall under the jurisdiction of the Municipality of North Mitrovica," said Ugljanin.
