Political scientist from Pristina, Fidan Ukaj, tells Kosovo Online that although there has been a recent rapprochement between Hungary and Serbia, Hungary was among the first countries to recognize Kosovo's independence, and he believes that its relations with Serbia will not lead to the revocation of Kosovo's recognition.

“State leaders in Hungary come and go, but Hungary recognizes Kosovo as a state, and that will remain. I think that Kosovo will soon be recognized by the remaining five European Union countries that have not yet recognized it as a state, after which the entire cycle of recognition by EU member states will be completed, as well as Kosovo's membership in international organizations and the EU,” Ukaj said.

He emphasizes that although Hungary has opposed some decisions of the European Union, it continues to support Kosovo's independence, and he believes that this will continue, similar to the support of the majority of EU countries.
