Vucevic: The epicenter of the drug cartel is in Pristina; that's where Kurti should be looking for criminals
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of Serbia, Milos Vucevic, denied the accusations made by Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti and emphasized that the epicenter of drug cartels and criminal gangs was precisely in Pristina, RTV reports.
"It doesn't make any sense anymore. It's nonsense what that little tyrant from Pristina is saying. Let me remind the little tyrant from Pristina that the epicenter of drug cartels and criminal gangs is right there in Pristina. He shouldn't be searching outside Pristina if he wants to fight crime. If he wants to combat crime, he has to start with what's happening in Pristina," Vucevic told reporters.
He stressed that Kurti continued to terrorize the Serbs, aiming to cleanse Kosovo.
"Practically, they want no one to remain; then they would resolve the issue of Kosovo and Metohija the way they desire. Of course, they're also destroying cultural and spiritual monuments," Vucevic said.
The Defense Minister pointed out that the authorities in Pristina would like to claim Serbian cultural heritage in Kosovo and Serbian monasteries as their own.
"This is a stage where they are already putting the finishing touches on a criminal project - the ethnic cleansing of Kosovo and Metohija from the Serbs. And he is the greatest tyrant who is carrying it out. So, it doesn't make any sense anymore. What he's saying is truly beyond any context, and there's not a single piece of evidence. The man probably doesn't know what to do with his hatred," he said.
Vucevic expressed particular concern about the fact that, as he stated, a part of the political representatives and political life in Serbia had praised and supported Kurti.
"I'm talking about a part of the opposition, or representatives of the former regime, who spoke positively about Albin Kurti, who agreed with Albin Kurti that Serbia, or Serbia's representative, should be under sanctions. This is truly something we've never had in history," Vucevic said.
The Minister emphasized that the authorities in Pristina had used the moment when Serbia had been under, what he described as, unprecedented political pressure. According to him, the events in Banjska were just a pretext, and the root causes ran much deeper.
"The essence and the source of crime are in Pristina, so if Albin Kurti is going to fight against crime, then drug cartels and organized criminal groups are at his address," Vucevic said, calling on Pristina to let the Serbs in Kosovo live normally.
Kurti, on his Facebook profile today, made allegations that, as he wrote, "a paramilitary, terrorist attack in Banjska was organized by a clan from Novi Sad, led by Serbia's Minister of Defense, Milos Vucevic".
