Serbian Defense Minister Milos Vucevic said that no one was under the illusion that things were ideal and that everything had been resolved, but that he thought that a small diplomatic victory had been achieved. Two of our compatriots are free, he said, TV Happy reports.

"If there had not been a peaceful resolution, I would certainly not be here. We should be satisfied, but not excessively. When I say not excessively, I mean there are still some problems. Life is still not easy for the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija, a knot has not been untied, the issue that follows and identifies us for years, decades and centuries has not been resolved. It is good that for the first time or after a long time, the Serbs did not have to give anything or Serbia did not have to give anything, or lose some of its rights but it has received some guarantees or some additional documents that more or less guarantee the safety of Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija," Vucevic said.

Vucevic pointed out that he thought that a small diplomatic victory had been achieved.

"For the first time, we have received such documents from KFOR, which oblige them to control the entry of Kosovo security forces into the north. And of course, the statements of the European Union and the USA regarding the security and further survival of Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija. I am very proud of the country of Serbia and President Vucic, for being wise, rational and patient enough to put what was before us on the right path, to avoid some pitfalls. A scenario was being written that we were the culprits again like in the nineties and the bad guys," Vucevic said.

He emphasized that he particularly salutes all the Serbs in Kosovo who showed courage, determination and wisdom in fighting for their basic human rights and freedoms in a democratic and dignified way.

"I would like to ask all those who are great fighters for human rights and freedom in Central Serbia, it would be your turn to say something about the Serbs in Kosovo. Since you care more about a tree, a dog and a cat. And I also like trees and animals, but I love our people a little more, I love people a little more," he said and added that it would be a good time to announce the issue of how Serbs live in Kosovo, to release a statement, to hold a conference somewhere, to visit Serbs, let's see how these people live.
