Vucic: In 11 years, we have built more roads than Tito, Milosevic and DOS

The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, said tonight that in the last 11 years, more traffic infrastructure had been built than in the total of 70 years of the government of Josip Broz Tito, Slobodan Milosevic and DOS.

Vucic presented what had been done so far in terms of road infrastructure, and what is expected to be completed in 2023, pointing out that in the last 22-23 years, during the rule of Milosevic and the DOS, "only a part of the Novi Sad- Subotica road was built ”, and one part towards Kragujevac.

"And, we made the exit to Cacak, by the end of the year the part to Pozega will be ready. We are finishing Surcin-New Belgrade in March, opening the Nis-Merosina section. Moravian Corridor from Pojate to Makresan. Within seven months, we will open the Ruma-Sabac road, 23 kilometers long, and then in 2024 to Loznica," said the president.

He added that the Pozarevac-Golubac section is progressing at a tremendous speed, and that in four to five months, the section of the bypass around Belgrade, up to the Bubanj potok, would be completed.

He reminded that work was being done on the construction of the Novi Sad-Subotica high-speed railway, and that the works were going well, and that the renovation of the Valjevo-Vrbnica railway, as well as Stalac-Djunis, will follow, with the support of the EU,  with the 160-180 kilometer speed.

"Next is the full modernization of the Nis-Dimitrovgrad railway, as well as the completion of the Nis-Brestovac section".

He stated that not a single road or railway was abandoned, which was almost unbelievable under these circumstances.

"I will be ready to compare all Tito's, Milosevic's and kilometers of highways built during DOS with what we will do in just 11 years. You will see that we have done more than everyone else in the previous 70 years. You, the people, built that, we just worked on your behalf", Vucic said.
