Vucic: This year - a year of further development and progress despite everything
The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, said this evening that 2023 would be the year of further development and progress, a better standard of living for citizens, despite everything.
In this sense, he mentioned that the completion of the Kostolac B3 facility is one of the most important goals, because it was an important facility for Serbia, along with the continuation of numerous infrastructure works.
He also said that in the energy sector, they would work with partners from Norway to ensure stability.
"We will change the way the systems are managed, we will abolish party leadership. We will show that the state is more important to us than the party, and that in the next three, four months," Vucic said.
When it comes to food security, Vucic stated that we had reserves of wheat for 20 months, corn for 13 and sunflower for 30 months.
"We have to increase our reserves, because there will be less and less food in Europe and the world. We will have to take care of food and water. We have enough salt and sugar for the coming years," Vucic said.
He added that the state had reserves of gasoline for 99 days, and diesel for 87 days.
He noted that the dual education program would continue, which, he says, makes a difference between Serbia and others in the region, because it attracts investments, along with investments in the IT sector, artificial intelligence.
Investments in healthcare would also continue, said Vucic and stated that the issue of balanced development was very important.
"We will have to invest additionally in the south of Serbia. The gold we found is in the poorest municipalities, Gadzin Han and one more. It is a flywheel for us, but we will have to invest more", stated the President of Serbia.
He stated that the birth rate was the most important thing, because everything that was done makes no sense if we did not have more children.
"Please, people, why are we doing all this... Don't be angry, but there is no Serbia without children. Do not love dogs and cats more than children, because we will not have a future. A smaller number of people leave, some of them return, but we don't have children being born. Who are we working for then", Vucic said.
