Vucic on Zeit’s writing: There is no wolf in the circus, learn that...
The President of Serbia Aleksndar Vucic said this evening, commenting on the writing of the German "Zeit" about him, that he was proud that it all boils down to the criticism of his libertarian and independent policy, which they criticized him for.
The German "Zeit" writes today, among other things, that the EU "can tame Vucic with a firm hand, who has to pay the price for the policy of not imposing sanctions on Russia", and that Serbia's candidate status and EU funds should be frozen until the sanctions are introduced and serious negotiations begin with Pristina.
When asked if these were the most open threats from Germany so far, Vucic said that he saw Germany as a partner, the most important for Serbia, which was why he tried to have the closest relations with that country.
He stated that during Angela Merkel's time, it had been possible, but now other people had come, who wanted the end of Serbia or the Serbia they needed.
However, he says, we would hardly survive without German investments, because 77,000 people work in German companies, with a foreign trade exchange of 7.5 billion Euros.
"But when they say - you have to introduce sanctions... Thank you very much for brutally interfering in our domestic affairs. They say you have to recognize independent Kosovo or negotiate, even though we are negotiating seriously all the time, which Lajcak and Borrell should have informed them about, unlike their protégé, the teenager they made, who behaves like an arrogant brat who thinks he can slap anyone", Vucic said.
He pointed out that he was proud that the statement did not say - put pressure on Vucic through his accounts in Germany, a house in Berlin, an apartment in Munich, London...
"Vucic does not have that, because I'm not interested in it. Vucic loves Serbia, my dream and life is Serbia. It all boils down to my libertarian and independent politics, and they blame me for that," the President of Serbia said.
He told that 15 years ago he had taken his daughter to the circus in New Belgrade, and from then he remembered something well.
"The biggest animal is the elephant, and the strongest, the strongest is the tiger. I saw an elephant and a tiger in the circus. And when they talk about taming Vucic - I have never seen a wolf in a circus. There is no wolf in the circus. Neither Vucic, nor the wolf. And let them learn it. This is a lesson for them for all time," the Serbian president said.
