Vucic and Brnabic with Peach on the situation in Kosovo and the improvement of bilateral relations

Today, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Prime Minister Ana Brnabic spoke separately with the United Kingdom's Special Envoy for the Western Balkans, Stuart Peach, about the situation in Kosovo and the entire region, and about the improvement of bilateral relations.

Vucic wrote on the Instagram account "buducnostsrbijeav" that he had had a serious and substantive conversation with Peach.

"A serious and substantive conversation with Lord Stuart Peach. We discussed the situation in Kosovo and Metohija, as well as in the entire region. We also agreed that it is necessary for Serbia and Great Britain to invest more efforts in the development of our economic and overall political relations." Vucic wrote.

As announced by the Government of Serbia, Brnabic, when it comes to relations between Belgrade and Pristina, stated that the condition for the continuation of the process of normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina was the fulfillment of previously agreed obligations.

She explained that this was the only way to overcome open issues and achieve a mutually acceptable solution, stressing that preserving peace and stability was Belgrade's main priority.

The Prime Minister pointed out that regional cooperation was one of Serbia's foreign policy priorities, on which Serbia was working intensively.

"Brnabic emphasized that Serbia was determined to continue strengthening cooperation with the United Kingdom, where she particularly emphasized the importance of economic cooperation. She pointed out that trade in services in 2022 had exceeded one billion and 300 million euros in total value, particularly emphasizing the importance of deepening cooperation in the fields of education, culture, science, IT sector, and energy for bilateral relations," the announcement states.

Peach stated the United Kingdom's determination to preserve peace and progress in the region, as well as that London supported the Berlin Process and all other initiatives that contributed to the improvement of concrete cooperation in the region.
