Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, before the beginning of the meeting with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg in Brussels, expressed concern about the development of the situation in Kosovo and asked him that KFOR, in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution 1244, ensure the safety of the Serbs in Kosovo.

"I am very concerned about the development of the situation in Kosovo, not only in the north. I don't want to play a game of blaming each other, but this visit is very important for us because the situation in Kosovo is becoming more and more a security challenge, not just a political challenge," Vucic said and thanked Stoltenberg for his willingness to listen and hear out the Serbian side as well.

He pointed out that the situation and incidents in Kosovo were the results of the irresponsible approach of the Pristina authorities.

"The Serbs have been wounded and shot in Kosovo, and unfortunately there is no real investigation into these cases, which is of particular concern to us. In addition, the unfounded arrests of the Serbs are what further causes concern among the Serbs living in Kosovo, as well as among the Serbs, wherever they live," the President of Serbia said.

He stated that Serbia had very professional and good relations with KFOR, with NATO troops in Kosovo.

"You mentioned Resolution 1244, and according to that document, KFOR is responsible for security challenges. That's why we ask that KFOR guarantee the safety and security of the Serbs, because in the last six months, six Serbs were wounded by Albanians, and not a single Albanian was injured, let alone wounded, which best shows who is doing what," Vucic said.

He said that Serbia wanted peace and stability, as well as to maintain the same level of relations with KFOR, which was responsible and based on trust and sincerity between NATO and Serbia.
