President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic stated, following his meeting with the EU Special Representative for the Belgrade–Pristina Dialogue, Peter Sorensen, in Prague, that Serbia remains committed to the dialogue, but emphasized that the formation of the Community of Serb-Majority Municipalities (CSM) is a fundamental prerequisite for its continuation.

In a post on Instagram, Vucic noted that he had a substantive and constructive conversation with Sorensen regarding the continuation of the EU-facilitated dialogue, regional challenges, and the preservation of peace and stability in the Western Balkans.

“I underlined that Serbia is fully committed to finding compromise solutions through dialogue, with full respect for our international partners and a clear recognition of the interests of our people. I stressed that returning to the neglected foundations of all further talks—such as the establishment of the Association of Serb-Majority Municipalities—is of key importance for the continuation of the dialogue,” Vucic wrote.

He added that he is grateful to Sorensen for his seriousness, professionalism, and sincere commitment to peace and cooperation, as well as for the support the EU continues to provide to Serbia on its European path.

“We are convinced that only through mutual respect and responsibility can we ensure a better and more stable future for all citizens of the region,” Vucic concluded.
