Vucic: The Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Pristina - Svecla's ugly dream
President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, commenting on yesterday's removal of billboards in Zvecan featuring honorary citizens and the remarks on the matter by Kosovo's Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Svecla, stated today that the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Pristina was Svecla's ugly dream, a nightmare.
He reminded Svecla that Kosovo and Metohija, in accordance with the UN Charter, Resolution 1244, and the Constitution of Serbia, were a part of Serbia's territory.
"That's how it was, and that's how it will be," Vucic emphasized, responding to journalists' questions during his visit to the General Hospital in Vranje.
Svecla, after the billboard removal action, stated that "the only symbol of Serbia in Kosovo will be its embassy".
"Such thuggish politics, which he thinks he can indulge in with the support of those he shouldn't have, believes he can oppress our people - our people endured worse oppressors, but not forever, just slowly," Vucic said.
As for Serbia, the President stated that it would stand by its people and help as much as possible.
"We will do our best to preserve peace and protect it from irresponsible figures like Albin Kurti and his minions in the government," Vucic said.
Responding to a question about any new information regarding the deadline for relocating the tents in Leposavic, which expires today at 3 pm, Vucic says that he currently has no additional information.
"I am returning to Belgrade now, and I will see, but imagine a big problem because of the tent where signatures are collected to remove those who received three percent of the votes. That's the situation in, under quotation marks, the most democratic country in the world. Everything is under quotation marks with them, including this," he stated.
"Menendez received money to pursue pro-Albanian politics"
Vucic emphasized that US Senator Bob Menendez had caused a lot of damage to Serbia and the Serbs, and it had now been revealed that he was an Albanian lobbyist who had done all that for money.
"Bob Menendez is a man who has been causing us the biggest problems for years, along with Eliot Engel, the famous Albanian lobbyist from Brooklyn, New York. These are two people who, for years and decades, have been causing the biggest problems for the state of Serbia in the US Congress. For years, decades," the Serbian President said.
He emphasized that he hadn’t known who these people were until two or three years ago, especially since Albin Kurti had become the Prime Minister of Kosovo, and attacks on Serbia intensified.
Suddenly, he points out, Serbia became guilty of everything.
"You can see that there's something fishy going on. You try to respond and talk, but you hit an impenetrable wall. You immediately know that money is involved. I do not doubt that he (Menendez) received Albanian money. Then he was arrested for money he received unlawfully, in the meantime, he met Djilas, Tepic, and all the others, with extremely anti-Serbian positions," Vucic said.
He stated that Menendez had not only advocated for an independent Kosovo but had also called Serbs war criminals.
He added that nobody had believed Serbia when it had said Menendez was an Albanian lobbyist, and now it had been established that he worked for Albanian businessman Gazmin Daleta in America, who gave him money to pursue a pro-Albanian policy.
"I just want to make it clear to everyone that when they hear certain views from politicians, always pay attention to their background and why they behave that way. They attack me because someone else paid them to do it. Not everyone is like that, but those who know nothing about our region are always and usually like that. And now that it has been established that a great supporter of all those who hate Serbia is actually an Albanian mercenary? Nothing, everyone will be silent as if nothing happened, and we should forget about Bob Menendez," Vucic pointed out.
Vucic stated that Serbia, despite all attacks and difficulties, would strive at all costs to maintain peace to ensure a better life for its citizens.
He stressed that Serbia would remain consistent in its policy and adhere to the UN Charter.
"We will try at all costs to preserve peace so that we can build hospitals, reconstruct all family homes, and help the poorer ones. If we succeed, we have done great things," Vucic said.
All attacks, everything happening in recent days, he emphasized, have one goal - to avoid talking about what cannot be defeated - "the energy, enthusiasm, ambition of our citizens, and the happiness of our people because they see Serbia changing its face, because of the Expo 2027 plan".
When asked whether there would be new employment in healthcare in Kosovo, along with the observation that it contributed to the stay of the Serbs, Vucic said it had contributed, but in any case, it was not the key reason.
"I don't think that's the key reason; people in Kosovo and Metohija want to keep their homes, but if we can help them in that at least a little, we will do it," Vucic said.
He emphasized that employment had also contributed to the survival of the Serbs.
"We always agree to that when it comes to allocations, not because it fully gives results, but because we know it contributes to the survival of our people in Kosovo and Metohija. I cannot speak about the money we give; some will misunderstand, but there are significant allocations, and we will try to increase them and help the survival of our people in Kosovo and Metohija," the President concluded.
He stated that the 500,000 dinar benefit for the first child would be in effect from May 1st, as a budget rebalance was needed, but it would be retroactive so the children born in March or February would not be avoided.
"Natural population growth among the Serbs in Kosovo is positive".
Vucic also stated that the natural population growth among the Serbs in Kosovo was positive, adding that Serbia faced the most significant issues in urban areas.
"We need to work on motivating people; in poorer areas, all the money we offer will have effects. Fortunately, in Kosovo and Metohija, there is a positive natural population growth among the Serbs, but it would be good if it were the same in other areas," Vucic said to journalists during his visit to the General Hospital in Vranje.
As he added, the biggest problem was in urban areas.
"If you look at Vracar or Stari Grad in Belgrade, the fertility rate is 1.3, while our goal is 1.75, and we need 2.15 for simple reproduction," he pointed out.
When journalists mentioned that the maternity hospital in Pasjane, where 126 women gave birth this year, is a good investment that motivated the Serbs in that part of Kosovo to stay in their homes, the President said it was excellent and specified that a total of 1,072 women had given birth in that maternity hospital.
"Three schools in the municipality of Bujanovac will be renovated".
Vucic announced that three schools in the municipality of Bujanovac would be renovated, two attended by the Serbs and one in the Lucane settlement, which was almost "purely Albanian".
Vucic emphasized that the school in this settlement would undergo a complete reconstruction.
"They complained that their roof was leaking; we won't just fix the roof, we'll change everything for Albanian children too. So, they also know that this is their country, our country, our land for all of us, we don't make a distinction in this matter," Vucic said during his visit to the General Hospital in Vranje.
He noted that many Albanians were being treated at the hospital in Vranje.
