Vucic with Fico: Slovakia’s firm position on preserving Serbia’s territorial integrity
President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic met this morning at the EU–Western Balkans Summit in Tivat with Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, to whom he expressed gratitude for Slovakia’s support for Serbia’s European path, as well as for the country’s firm and principled stance on preserving Serbia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
“A cordial and friendly conversation with Robert Fico about Serbia’s European future, the current dynamics and possibilities for accelerating the European Union enlargement process, regional challenges, and further improvement of cooperation between our countries,” Vucic wrote on Instagram.
He said they exchanged views on current political and economic developments in Europe and the region, stronger political cooperation, and the potential to increase trade exchange and further connect the economies of Serbia and Slovakia.
“I expressed gratitude to Slovakia for its support of Serbia’s European path and reforms, as well as for its firm and principled stance regarding the preservation of our country’s territorial integrity and sovereignty,” Vucic stated.
The President of Serbia is participating in the EU–Western Balkans Summit, held in Tivat under the slogan “Shared Prosperity and Stability of the EU and the Western Balkans”.
Ahead of his departure for Tivat, he said he expects a lot from the meeting and hopes there will also be announcements related to the methodology of EU accession.
