Vucic with De Montbrial: The consequences of global decisions are most directly felt by states that seek to preserve peace
The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, met with Thierry de Montbrial, founder and President of the International Conference on Global Policy, with whom he discussed the changes the modern world is undergoing, the war in Europe, crises in the Middle East, and security and economic challenges.
“A cordial and substantive conversation with Thierry de Montbrial, founder and president of the International Conference on Global Policy and one of Europe’s most prominent experts on international relations, with whom I share a long-standing acquaintance and mutual respect. We discussed the changes the modern world is undergoing, the war in Europe, crises in the Middle East, security and economic challenges, as well as the need to preserve space for dialogue and responsible policy in a time of deep divisions,” Vucic wrote on Instagram.
During the meeting, Vucic emphasized that it is important for smaller countries that their voice be heard, because the consequences of major global decisions, as he added, are often most directly felt precisely in states that seek to preserve peace, stability, and the right to decide on their own future.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to speak on such an important and respected platform about Serbia’s position, our European path, our policy of peace and stability, as well as the importance of safeguarding national interests in complex international circumstances. I emphasized that Serbia fully understands the seriousness of the moment the world is in,” he said.
