The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, stated that today at the World Policy Conference (WPC) in France, he pointed out how the rights of Serbia and the Serbian people have been trampled on, particularly in relation to the situation in Kosovo.

“I believe that, in relatively good manner and under not easy conditions, I spoke about how the rights of Serbia and the Serbian people have been trampled on, especially regarding the situation in Kosovo and Metohija. I also spoke about Serbia’s principled position, how successfully - it is better for you to assess than for me to speak about it,” Vucic told the media after participating in the WPC in France.

Vucic said that he had good discussions with Thierry de Montbrial, founder and executive chairman of the French Institute of International Relations and WPC, as well as with other officials from Romania to Kazakhstan.

As he stated, he hopes that the WPC will be held in Belgrade next year and that as early as March next year one of such important sessions could be held in Belgrade.

He emphasized that it was good that he had the opportunity to hear what Emmanuel Macron said because, as he noted, it is becoming increasingly clear in which direction Europe will move, where there will be more identity-related issues, but also positioning of countries as fully independent in various areas.

“It is becoming clear that they will keep only foreign affairs and probably defense and security together, and everything else, I believe, will go in another direction, towards further federalization or confederalization of Europe, rather than centralization,” Vucic added.
