President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic stated this evening that the state will work tirelessly every day to support the Serbian people in Kosovo, emphasizing that Kosovo and Metohija is Serbian land which, as he said, no one can take away regardless of what global powers may claim.

“We will work every single day, diligently, to support our people in Kosovo and Metohija. Every day. That is our people, that is our land under international law, under the Charter of the United Nations, and under the Constitution of Serbia. And no one can take it from us. You can say whatever you want, you global powers. You can do whatever you wish, but you must know that you will never find anyone in Serbia who would renounce their origin and their territory,” Vucic said at a rally of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) in the Belgrade Arena.

Vucic expressed gratitude to the Serbian people in Kosovo, as reported by Radio Television of Vojvodina.

“They have safeguarded our homeland whenever it was most difficult, and I know they will always continue to do so. I also thank our people in the Republic of Srpska and across the region, wherever our people live. A warm greeting as well to Milan Knezevic from Montenegro, who is with us tonight. We know very well how much they love Serbia, and we love them too and will always stand by them,” Vucic said.

He added that Serbia will remain militarily neutral and will not attack anyone, but must be strong enough to deter any potential aggression.

“Our choice is to remain a free, sovereign country, not to be part of any military alliance, to protect our own skies and defend our own land, and as such we must be strong enough to deter anyone from potential aggression against our country,” Vucic said.

He stressed that Serbia is not part of any military alliance and that in two or three years it will become clear how those within alliances such as NATO will fare. The President of Serbia emphasized that his goal is for Serbia to develop.

“I do not want to return any child in a coffin to any mother… I want to see children living in the future, planning their own children, their grandchildren, planning to stay in this country, to work in this country, to love this country and to be proud of it,” he emphasized.

He added that Serbia must be strong for that purpose and that it will become even stronger.

“In response to their threats and attacks against our country, whether alliances are formed between Pristina, Tirana and Zagreb, or others think they can threaten Serbia with the bombing of Belgrade, we will always respond calmly and say—we respect you. We have nothing against you, we will not attack you, but the only thing we say is—Serbia is a tough nut to crack,” Vucic stated.

He added that the policy of SNS is the interest of Serbia, which includes maintaining good relations with both East and West.

“Our policy is one of peace, stability, and security. Our policy is that of a country on the European path. We must remain committed to those values and we still have much work to do,” Vucic said.
He pointed out that over the past four and a half years, Serbia has demonstrated that it is an independent and free country.

“We did not want to renounce friendship even with those who were condemned and attacked by everyone. We know what sanctions are—we are the only country in Europe that has not imposed sanctions on the Russian Federation, the only country that refuses to abandon friendship with its traditional partners in the East. We are building strong relations with the People’s Republic of China, and we are building increasingly better relations—and will build the best—with the United States. That is our policy, because our policy, in one word, is Serbia and its progress. What is in Serbia’s interest—that is our policy,” Vucic emphasized.
