The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, said tonight that it was necessary to look at the situation in Kosovo in a rational and serious way, to preserve the peace so that Serbia could have years of progress, and added that he should behave seriously, not in a party manner.

On TV Pink, speaking about the last session of the Serbian Parliament about Kosovo, Vucic said that the opposition had tried to overthrow him and his party from power with an incident.

"We talked about Kosovo and Metohija and I think we raised a lot of important issues so that people could see who seriously approaches the topic and who doesn't. Attacks on me were somewhat expected. I hoped that they would at least be able to raise their hand or press a button that would be the same at least on that important topic," he said.

Vucic emphasized that after the referendum on the independent judiciary when they had used conspiracy themes as an argument, nothing could surprise him anymore.

"I personally invested a lot of energy and effort, fought and worked. You cannot come to an 8 p.m. session, speak without being prepared; without having invested effort and energy. I think people could understand how difficult our position is, not because something is new today or yesterday. It has been a difficult situation for decades. Now it is especially difficult because of the war in Ukraine", he underlined.

He said that he had tried to be realistic and rational, to talk about peace, about the necessity of preserving peace in the region, and that it was necessary to fight to find a solution, and not to leave the problem to future generations.

"Many others took the opportunity to make the most serious accusations without indicators or evidence. What surprised me was that I saw that it was all premeditated and to a political layman it could only look spontaneous, like something that happened in parliament. I saw how the whole performance was planned. The wish was to accuse me of treason, not to allow me to speak. That's why they didn't let me speak, and then they came to me with the desire to cause an incident, and they scheduled a big protest, and it was supposed to break into the assembly and things took place differently. They didn't expect anyone to be persistent enough. If there had been a break, the session would not have continued," he said, adding that the opposition MPs had calmed down when they had seen that people had not gathered in front of the assembly.

He pointed out that it was true that unity in the preservation of vital national interests had not been achieved in the parliament.

"The bottom line is that they have only one goal, and that is how to overthrow the Serbian Progressive Party and me as its leader. I can show what the plan is; how they plan to form some other governments that would not make any sense, and which would be useful to the foreign services,"  Vucic added.

Vucic added that morality existed in politics and that this was the problem of his opponents with him and announced changes in public companies.

Vucic also mentioned the example of an "expert from Movement for the Restoration of the Kingdom of Serbia", who had accused him of being a traitor and had had positions in state enterprises.

"The cleaning has started, now you will be without director positions for a while, so in the next elections you will change that. Let's put morality back into politics. Morality exists in politics, but they have a problem with it. They don't understand that there are people who live to fight for their country. They don't understand that someone doesn't have accounts abroad and in the country, except for a regular current account. They don't understand that, and that's why they don't believe in all that, and when they accuse, they start from themselves. They gave me the opportunity now to show the people what liars they are, and what nonsense are those, each one of them," Vucic said.

He pointed out that it was not possible to defend against everything.

When asked about comments that he had been under the influence of intoxicating substances when he had told the US envoy Gabriel Escobar via social networks that he could only dream of recognizing the independence of Kosovo, Vucic suggested that he and Pajtic should go for analysis.

"Every time you protect your country and say that someone can dream something, the foreign agents I spoke to at that moment will always say that you are under the influence of intoxicating substances," he explained.

He indicated that he had never wanted to find the culprits in the Socilaist Party of Serbia, but he thought that, even if they didn't have to share the burden, it was fair that they didn't pretend they were dead.

"I know that the system must work even when I see that the screw is bad. But if you expect me to say something bad about Socialist Party of Serbia and those who left us like Zorana Mihajlovic, who is going to create her own party, you won't hear a single bad word from us. Everyone will know that she is doing this because she is not a minister," he stressed.

Vucic said that it was another matter of whether there would be elections by the end of the year, and explained that elections were held when there was a crisis of legitimacy or someone believed that there was one.

Regarding MP Dveri's announcement that they would come to see the Franco-German proposal, he said that they had not come.

"They expected a negative answer, and then invented a reason not to come, as if there was no need to come when they couldn't take a picture of the document and present it to the public," he explained.
