Vucic: Pristina is trying to impose force; no terror has lasted forever

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic stated that Pristina has been constantly attempting to falsify history and that, by demolishing weekend houses near Gazivode Lake, it is trying to impose its will through force in Kosovo.

Asked about Pristina's announcement that, as of August 1, tourist tours to monasteries in Kosovo will only be allowed to be led by guides appointed by its institutions, Vucic said that the "terror" continues, but that no such situation has lasted forever, RTS reported. 

"Several days ago, when I said that the Constitution and Resolution 1244 should be respected, as well as the Charter of the United Nations, they said: 'Vucic is threatening annexation,'" Vucic said.

According to him, Pristina has reached a point where everyone who advocates respect for United Nations resolutions and the UN Charter is considered by them to be "not normal" and an "aggressor."

"And yet, according to them, the separatists are the normal ones; those who violate the norms of international public law are the normal ones, and this should become some new practice, some new standard, and that is it. As you can see, they are trying to impose this in Montenegro as well, and everywhere else. Of course, they want to impose force in Kosovo and Metohija too, by demolishing the weekend houses of all people, especially those who have always remained loyal to the Republic of Serbia," Vucic said.

Asked whether bringing heavy road construction machinery near Visoki Decani Monastery endangered the monastery itself, Vucic replied that actions against the monastery are constantly being carried out.

"They are constantly coming up with something new. When they were forced to accept court decisions because everything depended on that in their relations with Europeans, Americans, and others, they accepted it under pressure, while waiting for a new opportunity to harass our monks at Decani Monastery," Vucic said.
