Vucic: We must preserve our unity; the first time a list not supported by Belgrade wins – there will be no Serbs left in Kosovo

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic today once again called for the unity of the Serbian people, stating that the first time the Serb List or any other list supported by Belgrade fails to win in Kosovo, there will no longer be any Serbs in Kosovo.

Speaking in Sipovo, the Republic of Srpska, Vucic reiterated that Serbia's foremost goal is peace because it is essential for economic development.

Responding to a journalist's remark that there are ongoing attempts to divide the Serbian people, Vucic said there have always been politicians who sought to do so, particularly in Belgrade, where, he claimed, "intelligence influence" has always been the strongest.

“Today you have Rasic, in the political sense, in Kosovo and Metohija... Do not forget one thing: the first time the Serb List, or any other list supported by Belgrade that unites the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija, fails to win the people's trust, not even two years will pass before not a single Serb remains in Kosovo and Metohija,” Vucic warned.

He therefore congratulated Serbs in Kosovo for knowing how to conduct themselves, despite all the hardships, suffering, and frustration, in order to survive and remain in Kosovo.

“That is why we will succeed, all together. To the extent that we are able to help, in every possible way, under extremely limited circumstances and with our hands tied, we will continue to do so. But we must preserve our unity and togetherness. That is of crucial importance,” Vucic said.

Responding to the observation that regional media interpret his calls for Serbian unity as “inflammatory rhetoric,” he said he was not concerned by such characterizations and that it was all “only a question of how long he should keep having to justify himself for no reason.”
