Vucic: We will ask KFOR to enable the deployment of Serbian forces in Kosovo
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said that Belgrade would send a request to the KFOR commander to ensure the deployment of the army and police forces of the Republic of Serbia in Kosovo, in accordance with Resolution 1244 of the UN Security Council.
The president added that he had no illusions that Kfor would accept it, but that according to the UN resolution, Serbia had the right to do so.
He said that the Serbian services had carefully examined the entire case surrounding today's arrest of former Kosovo policeman Dejan Pantic, that he informed international partners about it, and that Pristina was accusing Pantic of terrorism without any basis.
Pantic was in front of that building on the day when a riot broke out in North Mitrovica due to an attempt to take over the Municipal Election Commission, because he lives there.
"Pantic was returning from the store with groceries in his hands," said Vucic, noting that during the day he spoke with the arrested man's wife.
Vucic mentioned all the cases of incidents provoked in the previous days by the special forces of the Kosovo police, the theft of wine from the family of Srdjan Petrovic in Velika Hoca, the entry of special police vehicles into the yard of the kindergarten in Leposavic.
"Look at the policemen with their finger on the trigger of the long pipes as they take the wine from Petrovic," Vucic pointed out.
He pointed out that a series of daily lies, pressures and deceptions from Pristina was ongoing. He stated all the facts related to the realization of the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities, which Kurti refuses to implement and calls that request of Belgrade "childish wishes".
"They will have to fulfill what they signed in the Brussels agreement. If they don't want to, we will be exposed to the greatest pressure from the outside. They will explain to me what the consequences will be if we don't behave as they want. And yesterday they wanted to arrest a man who had the inscription Serbia in Jarinje," Vucic said.
Pristina also trampled on the Washington agreement completely, Vucic says.
"On December 15, they will apply for EU membership with fanfare. It is certainly not a good decision. Today I sent a letter to the presidents of the five countries that did not recognize Kosovo's independence, because only internationally recognized countries can request admission. I thanked the leaders of Cyprus, Slovakia, Romania, Spain and Greece in the letter and I pointed out the fact that our principled struggle was the only possible principle on which we can all persevere," Vucic said.
Because of everything that Pristina is doing, Vucic announced that Belgrade would soon disclose the list of countries that have withdrawn recognition of Kosovo in recent months.
"We will continue with that work. We will fight," Vucic says.
