Using its success in the recent parliamentary elections, the Pristina administration is pushing the cleansing of Kosovo of the Serbian population, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said, Sputnik reports.

“The attempt by the so-called Kosovo authorities to demonstrate some kind of democratic process is, in practice, being degraded. Using their success in the recent parliamentary elections, the Pristina administration is pushing the cleansing of the province of the Serbian population. That is how what is happening there is called. They literally took one mandate away from the Serb List in order to give it to a puppet activist who will supposedly represent the Serbian population in the assembly,” she said.

She also referred to the application of the Law on Foreigners. As she noted, caretaker Prime Minister Albin Kurti, whom she said has been “spoiled by the West,” behaves as if everything is allowed.

“There is a mockery of the rights of Serbs underway. The so-called prime minister, the extreme nationalist Kurti, whom the West has spoiled, or rather corrupted by allowing him everything, announced that on March 15, he will apply the so-called Law on Foreigners, which bans staying in the province for more than three days for everyone who does not have, as he said, Kosovo citizenship or some kind of permit. In this way, Serbs who live on their historical territories, work and study are effectively being declared foreigners,” she explained.

She also commented on the Law on Vehicles, which, as she said, targets the entire Serbian vehicle fleet, including that of medical and educational institutions.

“Where have you seen such democracy? Where is that entire collective Brussels that promised so much to Belgrade, outlined a European perspective, not to see the problems being created for the Serbian people,” she said, adding that all of the above tramples on the rights of the non-Albanian population.
