Paolo Zampolli, Special Envoy of the President of the United States for global partnerships, currently visiting Belgrade, stated that the U.S. and Serbia enjoy a fantastic relationship.

In an interview with Newsmax Balkans, Zampolli emphasized that Serbia and the United States already have an excellent relationship, with the full support of the U.S. administration, as well as an ambition to further deepen cooperation through concrete projects—from hydropower development on the Danube to investments in aviation infrastructure.

“I am in Serbia because the relationship that the United States has with you is absolutely fantastic. I am here to show love and friendship and to improve this relationship. We are working very closely with all parts of your government, with our large embassy here, especially starting from the Expo we launched last week in Washington at the residence of Ambassador Dragan Sutanovac. Your Minister of Finance was there. You have the full support of the State Department,” the U.S. special envoy stressed.

He added that Serbia will host an outstanding Expo 2027.

“We are expecting very high attendance, and all viewers are welcome to come to Serbia—for the entire Expo, as well as the U.S. pavilion. That would be incredible. In addition to my mission in sports diplomacy and Expo, global partnerships is a very broad program,” Zampolli said.

He also noted that there are major projects planned for implementation in the near or longer term at “North Gate 3.”

“These include Danube hydropower, which is also connected with Romania, and we will begin by signing a cooperation agreement in the coming days. We also have geothermal projects that we are very enthusiastic about. We look forward to cooperating with you on airports and aviation infrastructure,” he said.

Zampolli reiterated that relations between Serbia and the United States are excellent.

“People in Serbia truly like us. They like U.S. President Donald Trump. That brings me great joy. I have been coming here since 2014. In 2014, I introduced former Prime Minister Ivica Dacic—now Minister of the Interior, Police and Security—to President Trump,” Zampolli concluded.
