Aleksandar Karadjordjevic: Humanitarian disaster in Kosovo and Metohija must be prevented
In response to news about a possible humanitarian crisis that could happen due to low levels of medicine supplies at the Clinical Center of Kosovska Mitrovica, Crown Prince Aleksandar Karadjordjevic expressed concern for the patients there, strongly condemning the harmful actions of Pristina, as reported by RTV.
"Unfortunately, we are on the verge of a moment when the irresponsible and harmful actions taken by the institutions of the so-called 'state of Kosovo' could have even more serious and dangerous consequences for Serbs struggling to survive in our southern province. With great sadness and concern, I received the news that, as a result of Kurti's decision to block trucks carrying goods from central Serbia in mid-June this year, there is now a shortage of medicines at the main pharmacy of the Clinical Center in Kosovska Mitrovica," Crown Prince Aleksandar Karadjordjevic stated in a media release.
He assessed that such actions by Pristina were unimaginable and unacceptable and called on all those who have an influence on the Kosovo Prime Minister to prevent a humanitarian disaster.
"This is unthinkable and unacceptable; I am deeply disturbed and concerned for the well-being of patients and all people who may need medical assistance. I appeal to all those who have an influence on Kurti to do everything in their power to prevent a humanitarian disaster," Karadjordjevic emphasized.
As he added, Serbs are a proud nation, and pressures from Pristina will not shake their resolve to remain in their ancestral homes.
"It is crucial to stop this senseless mistreatment. Endangering the sick and vulnerable, playing with their lives and health, is, to say the least, wrong. This is something that cannot be tolerated in the modern world and must be stopped before serious consequences occur," the statement by Crown Prince Aleksandar concludes.
