Belosevic: Ljubozda residents upset and fearful for their safety

Members of the Provisional Authority of Istok visited several returnee families today whose houses have been burglarized in the last twenty days. The President of this Provisional Authority, Kosta Belosevic, emphasizes that the homeowners and their neighbors are visibly upset and fearful for their safety.

Belosevic says for Kosovo Online that they spoke with residents who are visibly upset and frightened.

"They are afraid for their safety, in addition to all the problems they have - unemployment and other economic issues, they are currently facing a security problem", he says.

Belosevic points out that in the previous period, seven houses were burglarized, with the first ones being robbed immediately after Christmas when the owners of that house were in central Serbia, where they spent the holidays.

"But it continued, and the last two were burglarized the night before last", Belosevic says and states that a tractor plow, five cubic meters of firewood, a television, a computer, and household items were taken, and the remaining furniture was scattered and partially damaged.

Belosevic adds that the police were on the scene, conducted an investigation, and, as he says, that was the end of it.

"The police's task is to find the perpetrators. Everything happened overnight, no one noticed or saw anything, only in the morning did neighbors and relatives of the owners of those houses notice that the houses were burglarized and that a search had taken place", Belosevic says.

In the village of Ljubozda, Municipality of Istok, the houses of returnees Marinko Blagojevic and Tomislav Radivojevic were robbed yesterday, while during the Christmas holidays, family houses of Zarko Zaric and Radomir Ristic were also robbed in the same village.
