The citizens of Gracanica are outraged by the announcement that, starting from February 1, only the euro will be accepted in Kosovo's payment system and that there is a real danger that they will not be able to receive their salaries and pensions in dinars anymore.

"This is the most dangerous thing that could happen to the people in Kosovo. Every trouble befalls us here. We plan to live here. Something shouldn't be closed but opened, and the people should live," Verica Mladenovic from Badovac near Gracanica said.

Ljubomir Maksimovic from Gracanica says that, due to these announcements, the state of Serbia must react quickly.

"It will be a disaster if this happens. The state of Serbia must react quickly; otherwise, there is no survival for the Serbian people because every day there are fewer of us, and people are emigrating. This must not be allowed," Maksimovic warns.

Jovica Zivic from Dobrotin believes that the scenario being announced will severely impact the citizens.

"We have to go to central Serbia to collect salaries, pensions, social benefits, and child allowances. It's not good," Zivic said.

Moreover, for a month now, there have been long lines in front of the Serbian Post and the NLB Komercijalna Bank branch in Gracanica, which will close all its branches in Kosovo on February 1.

The Central Bank of Kosovo announced yesterday that at the meeting held on December 27, the board of the bank had adopted a regulation on cash transactions. According to this regulation, the only currency that can be used in Kosovo for cash transactions in cash and the payment system is the euro.
