In connection with the decision of the Basic Court in Urosevac to replace the detention measure for KSF member Azem Kurtaj, who shot a Serbian boy and a young man on Christmas Day in Gotovusa, with house arrest, journalist and writer Zivojin Rakocevic tells Kosovo Online that "all that remains is to reward him".

Rakocevic says that the shootings of Azem Kurtaj on Christmas Day renewed all fears about the killed and injured children in Kosovo and Metohija, and his release into house arrest insults and opens the deepest wounds.

"From the first moment, it was clear that Kurtaj has special treatment and that the media, the police, and the courts are 'gentle' toward him and his attack. He is a man of the system and as things stand it looks like he will be rewarded for shooting a child and a young man. Terrible is the fact that parents of wounded children, not of their own volition, pay the tax from which the attacker receives his salary. It is a picture of life in which you are forced to pay for the shot that was fired at you," Rakocevic says.

Kurtaj, let's recall, shot at the boys, Stefan and Milos Stojanovic from Gotovusa near Strpce, on Christmas Eve when they were returning from the forest carrying a Serbian Christmas tree. On that occasion, Stefan was seriously shot in the shoulder and Milos in the hand. Kurtaj fled the scene and was later arrested.
