Turkovic: Radic is frightened and disturbed, he has a hematoma on his head
On-duty surgeon at the Clinical Center of Kosovska Mitrovica, Blazo Turkovic, told Kosovo Online that Dejan Radic from Staro Gracko near Lipljan, who had been assaulted, was admitted to the facility today. Due to a head hematoma, a CT scan was performed, and Radic appeared to be very agitated and frightened.
"He was transferred for further diagnostic procedures by the doctors from the Pristina Clinical Center. A CT scan of the head was done due to contusion injuries, a hematoma, and swelling of the lips, nose, and forehead. The CT scan was completed. We recommended that the patient stay with us for further monitoring, but he refused this explicitly due to family issues he is dealing with," Turkovic stated.
Turkovic noted that Radic insisted on returning to Gracanica, and that the CT scan results would be available and analyzed later to determine if there were any more severe injuries beyond those already identified and confirmed by the doctors.
"He was extremely agitated, psychologically quite frightened—more than is typical for an adult man. He has swelling on his forehead, face, and lips, which is typical for contusion injuries to the head. Most likely, these injuries were sustained in a fight, as he stated that he was attacked and beaten," Turkovic explained.
The Office for Kosovo and Metohija reported that around midnight, Dejan Radic from Staro Gracko in the municipality of Lipljan was beaten and robbed in his home. The Office characterized this attack as ethnically motivated, warning that it has caused great concern and fear among the remaining Serbs in the area.
"Three attackers, who spoke Albanian, first tied him up, then beat him with a stick, and finally robbed him. The unfortunate man was helped by his Serbian neighbors, who called the police, as Dejan lives alone in his family home, following the recent passing of his mother," the statement reads.
