Vasilije Tomasevic: I was lying in the ambulance under sedation while the police threatened not to let us go

Vasilije Tomasevic from North Mitrovica was lying in an ambulance that the Kosovo police kept in Jarinje because of the license plates, and he tells Kosovo Online that he was not at all comfortable as a sedated patient when he realized that he might not make it to the hospital.

Tomasevic was returning from a coronary angiography performed on him at the Medical Centre Zvezdara in Belgrade.

"Yesterday morning we went to Belgrade, where I had a coronary angiogram. On the way back, the police stopped the ambulance in Jarinje and they said that the vehicle could not enter Kosovo. They said that the car had not been registered. I felt uncomfortable, I am still under therapy, and when they tell you that you can't return to continue treatment in your home hospital, it doesn’t feel comfortable at all," Tomasevic said.

A large number of the Serbs from municipalities in the north of Kosovo had problems in the previous days when crossing Brnjak and Jarinje by car because the Kosovo police stopped them and warned them that they had had no right to use their vehicles with KM plates, since they had extended their registration after December 10 last year.
