Marty has been targeted since 2011 when he broke the myth of the "clean KLA fight"
Who really wants to liquidate Dick Marty? For the answer to that question, it is best to go back 12 years, to be precise in 2011. And while in Pristina they were preparing to celebrate the three-year anniversary of the unilateral declaration of independence in a little more than three weeks, on January 25, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe overwhelmingly adopted a report by a Swiss politician and prosecutor on "inhumane treatment of people and organ trafficking." And 169 MPs voted for the resolution (eight were against and 14 abstained). This is how the myth of the "clean fight of the KLA" was dispelled.
Over the years, Albanian politicians compared Marty to Goebbels, saying that he was under the influence of the Russians and that he fabricated everything... They threatened him for years so he himself declared last year that he was placed under police protection "because of alleged threats from certain circles of Serbian security services".
Interestingly, Marty said a few days ago that he "attributes the blame to the Albanian authorities for the constant attacks" for the threats he was facing.
Ilija Zivotic, a professor from the Faculty of Security for Kosovo Online, says that "the investigation should be directed towards the agents of Pristina who operate in Switzerland because it would not be the first time that some service hires people of the opposite nationality through someone who presents himself as working for another service".
"Making an action to kill Dick Marty would only harm Serbia because it means a lot to us and I sincerely hope that he will live for many more years. So, such an order certainly did not come from the Serbian authorities. And whether anyone tried to hire a criminal of Serbian origin for the assassination, that does not automatically mean that the state of Serbia is behind it. After all, crime knows no borders, especially in Switzerland, where the Albanian mafia has ruled sovereignly for more than 25 years. I think that the investigation should be directed towards agents of Pristina who operate in Switzerland because it wouldn't be the first time that a service hires people of the opposite nationality through someone who pretends to work for another service. It is one of the classic examples of covering up one's tracks. Add to that the fact that a large number of criminals dream of becoming collaborators of the security services abroad is a winning combination," Zivotic says.
Terrorism expert Dzevad Galijasevic for Kosovo Online points out that it is logical that "Marty is in danger from the KLA".
"And much less important people who wanted to testify about the crimes of the KLA were liquidated. Do not forget that many of the KLA are connected with members of ISIS, so it is not surprising that Dick Marty is their potential target. Interestingly, they even succeeded to plant him with a story that the danger actually comes from the circles of the Serbian security services, although this has nothing to do with the truth but it is easier to manipulate a man who is facing death threats and who is isolated in some way from society. They did the same with Oliver Ivanovic, who was kept in prison and was sued for war crimes, and when they had to release him, they liquidated him and accused the Serbs of it. They are making the same scenario with Marty now. It is known that the Albanian mafia is dominant in Switzerland."
Zivotic points out that "attention is drawn to the fact that in the aforementioned story about the threats, that criminal talks to the agent and explains that the weapon has arrived and that he is just waiting for the assassination which will happen soon".
"In practice, it doesn't work like that. There isn't that much time lapse when it comes to such important targets as Dick Marty potentially. Nor are people who live in that territory used. For an assassination of that caliber, people with papers from third countries are brought in, and people who are not in the records, and don't go through "facial recognition". They do the job and leave without a trace. Hiring a criminal from the territory where the victim lives would be a beginner's mistake and everything would be known in 48 hours," Zivotic says.
