Endangering peace and disrespecting human rights are two factors that, above all, give great powers a reason to use military supremacy in resolving the conflict between two political entities, which can subjugate the bearer of territorial integrity and sovereignty. However, under the democratic foil, a dialogue takes place at the table and a written agreement is drawn up, but the last word always lies with the great powers, which determine the role of the winner and the loser. In this vortex of power is Serbia, which without support is struggling with the hot issue of Kosovo and with the escalation of the problems we are witnessing.

After the fall of the Berlin Wall, seeds were planted in Racak and Rambouillet for a change in the political architecture not only in the Balkans but also beyond. The door has been opened for the most important military-political organization in the world - the North Atlantic Alliance - to use its military capabilities to operate around the world, directly or indirectly. Both on Yugoslav and Ukrainian soil, the situation was provoked by the political and diplomatic moves of the great powers and NATO's pretensions to expand its activities. These days, we are witnessing the fact that there is no sign of the beginning of negotiations and the suspension of war and pre-war events on any of the soil in Europe that the North Atlantic Alliance claims.

Former socialist countries broke with communist ideology and embraced pluralistic democracy with a capitalist platform. All the states that were members of the Warsaw Pact are slowly becoming members of the North Atlantic Alliance, thus bringing NATO closer to the very border of the Russian Federation, which threatens its security and even its very survival.

Russia and the US are currently in the most serious conflict since the existence of these two countries, which are the founders and members of the UN and the Security Council. These two UN members, according to historian Arthur Schlesinger, had the most dangerous direct moment in human history during the Cuban crisis, in 1962, at the level of nuclear projects. But today, on the soil of Ukraine, they are talking about modern weapons, along with threats and modern nuclear weapons. Instead of finding a way to end the war, the sparks of the whirlwind of war are falling on the Balkan soil.

The battle for Kosovo from the past era was carried over to the next, modern century. Through a subtle and unfair game, the bearers of the Serbian spiritual heritage, whose center is in Kosovo and Metohija, are being evicted. Nor did the Ottoman Empire persecute the owners of the graves of their ancestors, the creators of the history and traditions of the Serbs.

Mihajlo Idvorski Pupin financed the book, which was written in 1918, and it talks about the Serbian churches in Kosovo. Pupin, with the help of Nikolaj Velimirovic, preserved the church art and architecture of this region under the Serbian sun, not only that but also the spirit of a people who, through suffering and struggle, created timeless beauty with the seal of Serbia. Namely, British Sir Thomas Jackson, at the urging of Pupin, described 25 Kosovo churches and monasteries and all their values in English. Among them is the Patriarchate of Pec, Gracanica, and Decani, recognized as masterpieces, and works of world heritage, under the protection of UNESCO.

Although a century has passed since this book by a British academician, it is not too late to remember its value in evil times and gain strength to defend the freedom of the Serbs on their own land, where the roots of the spiritual and historical treasure of the Serbs, with identity and the sovereign right to exist on its territory. If the methods we saw yesterday on the soil of the southern province of Serbia continue, soon we will no longer have access to spiritual treasures or masterpieces that mark the spirit and history of the Serbs and their cradle.

On the other hand, the North Atlantic Alliance has uncompromisingly outlined its goal based on military-political interests. According to what was demanded in Rambouillet, the goal is Serbia's membership in NATO. Milosevic refused on March 22, 1999, and two days later bombs were heard on the soil of FR Yugoslavia. Today, 24 years later, we have before us Resolution 1244, the essence of which is the normalization of relations in Kosovo, as an autonomous province of Serbia.

The internal unrest in Serbia, the protests of the government and the opposition, and the escalation of the conflict in Kosovo - are fertile ground for the expansion of NATO forces, under the justification of endangering peace in the world, and the initiation of a new firefight that would imprison Serbia.

We need patience and wisdom, and above all harmony to preserve peace. Let our Mihajlo Pupin and his diplomacy be our guide in this.
