Abazi: After accepting the European proposal - my path and Kurti's diverge
The MP of the Self-Determination Movement, Haki Abazi, says that after yesterday's meeting in Brussels and the acceptance of the European proposal, he and Albin Kurti are parting ways.
Abazi stated on Facebook that Kurti was a continuation of the past and not a change as he claimed.
"Mr. Kurti, you are a continuation of the past, you are not a change. You have adopted special warfare, an army of Facebook, and social media to eliminate anyone who disobeys you. Mr. Kurti our paths are finally parting ways. You have continued on the same path as those in the past. You accepted the Community and declared yourself most dishonestly. At least if you had said it openly and to your face, you would have accepted it or clearly rejected it," Abazi says.
Abazi says that Kurti agreed to a framework agreement that has two basic elements for Kosovo, preserving the special role of the Serbian Orthodox Church vis-à-vis other religious communities and the CSM.
"Article 7 states that both parties undertake to create concrete agreements and guarantees, in accordance with the relevant instruments of the Council of Europe and relying on existing European experiences, to ensure an appropriate level of self-governance for the Serbian community in Kosovo and the ability to provide services in certain areas, including the possibility of financial support from Serbia and a direct channel of communication for the Serbian community with the Government of Kosovo. The parties will formalize the status of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Kosovo and ensure a strong level of protection for Serbian religious and cultural objects, in accordance with existing European models," Abazi said.
