Abrashi: There were no conditions for Pantic to be kept in custody any longer
Foreign politics analyst Emir Abrashi said that there were no conditions for former Kosovo police officer Dejan Pantic to be kept in detention any longer, Koha reports.
He pointed out that he would not be surprised if the international allies of Kosovo themselves reached an agreement with the judiciary, bypassing the government.
"There were no conditions for keeping Pantic in detention any longer. I do not think that the judiciary was in a position to continue the measure of detention without any changes or by failing to ensure the transport of Pantic to South Mitrovica. On the other hand, it is clear that there is a commitment from Kosovo's international allies. I would not be surprised if Kosovo's international allies agreed with the judiciary to change the measure, bypassing the government. That would be extremely bad news because the government would be seen as a frivolous ally and an ally with whom the international community cannot discuss a solution to such a serious issue, such as the situation in the north," Abrashi said for KTV.
