Dimitrijevic: They surrounded us with long guns as if we were criminals; the people are frightened
Milos Dimitrijevic, former President of the Temporary body in Gorazdevac, told Kosovo Online that the Kosovo Police must stop scaring and upsetting the people because they treated them as if they were criminals, although they had done nothing.
He reacted to the police raid on Radio Gorazdevac and the arrest of the President of the Temporary body, Darko Kolasinac, along with two other employees.
"I noticed cars, first a police car, then a few jeeps. They parked and surrounded the place where the premises are, the Cultural Center and Radio Gorazdevac, and no one could approach. In fact, at that moment, the mobile network was blocked, so you couldn't call anyone. They entered the premises, conducted a search, talked to people, and took some papers. They didn't find the computer cases because they didn't want to; they took them in the previous period; they just picked up some monitors," Dimitrijevic said.
He added that they had brought in and taken Darko Kolasinac, as the representative of the Temporary body, and two other people to Pec.
"They were brought in to give statements; I think they will return. God willing, that's how it will be. You see for yourselves that the citizens are already upset; they did this to me several times. Unfortunately, half an hour later or forty minutes, when the police were on the premises, they questioned all these people. I wasn't inside. Deputy Prime Minister Svecla and Minister Albert Krasniqi, who is our neighbor, arrived. They just entered the room, took photos, went outside, and gave statements," Dimitrijevic emphasized.
Our interlocutor adds that this needs to be resolved in some other way.
"People should not be constantly scared and upset like this, putting pressure on us. Today there was so much police with long guns, so many jeeps, so many vehicles... What have we done? Are we criminals? What is this about?" the former President of the Temporary Body asked.
He also explained why Gorazdevac was very important in these areas - because it had 630 to 650 Serbs only in the municipality's territory, and with five surrounding villages and the Pec Patriarchate, there were about 930 in total.
"So, there are not many of us, but there are not few of us either, unlike many communities in the Kosovo and Metohija region. In the Metohija part, we are the most concentrated here, and we intend to stay in these areas, but unfortunately, you see what is being done," he concluded.
After the search, the police took out confiscated office materials from the building. The police also entered Radio Gorazdevac, located in the same building. Editor Darko Dimitrijevic's car and camera were confiscated for filming the police during the search operation.
