Djuric on Kurti's accusations: If it weren’t sad and dangerous, it would be laughable

Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Djuric stated that the accusations by Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, blaming Serbia for the explosion at the Ibar-Lepenac canal based on discovered emblems and uniforms, represent yet another attempt to divert attention from his own failures and the fact that he was caught making false allegations against Belgrade.

Djuric wrote on the social media platform "X" that, seven days after making serious and completely unfounded accusations against Serbia, Kurti has failed to provide any evidence to support his dangerous claims.

"Mr. Albin Kurti's pitiful show, featuring a collection of military stickers presented as 'evidence' of Serbia's involvement, is just another of his attempts to distract from his failures and the fact that he was caught fabricating accusations against Serbia. If it weren’t sad and dangerous, it would be laughable. Such public manipulations clearly highlight the unserious and false nature of his claims," Djuric wrote.

He noted that it is evident Kurti intends to use every day until the elections on February 9 for new provocations and disinformation to distract from the serious internal problems faced by Kosovo’s citizens.

"This kind of behavior further destabilizes the region and undermines efforts to normalize relations between Belgrade and Pristina. The Republic of Serbia remains committed to peace, stability, and dialogue as the only path to resolving all open issues. In this context, we call on the international community to clearly condemn such attempts at destabilization and public manipulation, which do not contribute to normalization in the region," emphasized the Serbian foreign minister.

He added that Serbia will continue advocating for constructive dialogue with full respect for international law and the protection of the rights of the Serbian people in Kosovo.

"We reject any insinuation of support for extremist or violent activities, which are inconsistent with our state policy and values. Serbia will persist daily in demanding accountability for the attack on the Ibar-Lepenac canal until the political instigators and masterminds are revealed," Djuric concluded.
