The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Marko Djuric, began the second day of his participation in the Munich Security Conference with a meeting with NATO Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Security Policy, Boris Ruge.

Djuric reiterated Serbia’s concern regarding the activities of Zagreb, Tirana and Pristina, as well as the conclusion of their latest agreement, which, in Serbia’s assessment, goes beyond military-technical cooperation. He emphasized that Serbia is closely monitoring these developments and underscored that such decisions do not contribute to regional stability.

He stressed that the engagement of KFOR is essential for preserving security in Kosovo and throughout the region, adding that Serbia expects KFOR, in accordance with its mandate, to continue acting in order to prevent any deterioration of the security situation on the ground and to protect the Serbian community, which is in an exceptionally difficult position due to what were described as repressive measures by Pristina.

Djuric reaffirmed that Serbia remains committed to dialogue as the path toward ensuring lasting peace and stability in the region.

“Pristina’s restraint from unilateral actions and provocations is a prerequisite for the return to dialogue, which requires the support of the international community, including NATO,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated.

Djuric also emphasized Serbia’s commitment to enhancing its partnership cooperation with NATO in all areas of mutual interest, as well as in spheres that contribute to the stability and development of the region.

As the head of Serbian diplomacy concluded, Serbia will continue to build its position as a responsible, reliable and predictable partner of NATO, with the aim of advancing shared interests and safeguarding peace and stability in the region.
