The Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to the United States of America, Marko Djuric, gave a lecture at Harvard University on the topic "The Future of Serbia and the Balkans".

Addressing postgraduate students at the "John F. Kennedy" School of Government, professors and representatives of the Diplomacy Professional Interest Council at this University, Djuric pointed out, among other things, the dramatic changes in the character of the Serbian economy, the accelerated modernization of public administration and the changed paradigm of Serbian politics with a focus on accelerated development and cooperation with all partners, along with the improvement of relations with the USA as one of the key priorities.

"Today, Serbia is future-oriented in key segments of its policy. That's good news even well beyond its geographic boundaries. The future of Serbia has always been the future of the Balkans, and the future of the Balkans today lies in ever closer cooperation. The foundation of that future rests on more intensive economic cooperation among all partners in our region, which is, inter alia, the guiding principle behind the "Open Balkan" initiative that President Aleksandar Vucic launched with the leaders of North Macedonia and Albania," Djuric underlined.

During his stay in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Ambassador Djuric also met with Elaine Papoulias, director of the Center for European Studies at Harvard University, with whom he discussed our country’s priorities and the possibilities of cooperation, and student and teacher exchange programs.
