Dusan's sister Selma: My innocent brother lies in prison; this ordeal has united us all

Selma Muratovic, the sister of Dusan Obrenovic, the young man who was arrested together with Rados Petrovic on May 29th in Zvecan, has stated today that her brother is in prison and nobody knows why.

"My brother hasn't done anything to anyone, yet he lies in prison, and nobody knows why. When I went to visit him, I saw that he was severely beaten and covered in bruises, and it hurts me every day. I send my support to Rados Petrovic and his family. This ordeal has united us. I thank all the people who protest daily and provide us with support in these difficult moments," Obrenovic's sister said to the gathered crowd at the protest in support of the arrested young men taking place in Zvecan today.

Dusan Obrenovic and Rados Petrovic were arrested 16 days ago during peaceful protests by Serbs in Zvecan due to the entry of Ilir Peci, the newly elected mayor of Zvecan, into the municipal building with the support of the Kosovo police.

Peci was appointed to that position after the elections in this municipality in northern Kosovo, in which the Serbs, who are the majority, did not participate.
