The French Ambassador to Pristina, Olivier Guérot, stated this evening that France fully supports KFOR and its commander, emphasizing that KFOR plays an irreplaceable role in ensuring security in the region and deserves the respect of all stakeholders.

Guérot wrote on the social media platform X that France will continue to provide all necessary support to KFOR “in a context where disinformation and manipulation of information are becoming systematic.”

“France fully supports KFOR and its commander. Since its establishment, KFOR has had—and continues to have—an irreplaceable role in ensuring the security of all. It deserves the respect and gratitude of all actors in the region. France will continue to provide all necessary support to KFOR in a context where disinformation and manipulation of information are becoming systematic,” Guérot wrote.

He also commended the media outlets that, as he said, accurately reported on KFOR’s role in the efforts to locate the body of a missing person in Lake Gazivode.

Members of the Kosovo Security Force (KSF) joined the search for the missing young man in Lake Gazivode this morning with KFOR’s approval.

According to a statement from the Mission, KFOR Commander Major General Enrico Barduani authorized the Kosovo Security Force to deploy search and rescue teams in the Lake Gazivode area, but that approval was conditioned on the fulfillment of specific requirements set by KFOR itself, which also ensured security throughout the entire search operation.
