The representative of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Xhavit Haliti, believes that mutual recognition of Kosovo and Serbia is not necessary at this stage, Gazeta Blic reports.

"At this stage, there is no need for mutual recognition, because even the Brussels Agreement defines some issues in which we will not be obstacles to each other. It is emphasized that Kosovo and Serbia will not hinder each other in the EU integration process, as well as that Serbia will not prevent Kosovo from integration into international institutions. So this is written in black and white in that agreement," Haliti said.

Commenting on the words of American Ambassador Jeffrey Hovenier that mutual recognition of Kosovo and Serbia was currently not possible, Haliti stated that they were based on the time and situation we were in.

"Such a statement is based on the situation and time we are in. We have to listen to our strategic allies," Haliti told Gazeta Blic.
