The United States Ambassador to Serbia, Christopher Hill, stated that Serbia-US relations cannot depend on what some third countries said, emphasizing their stability and the need for further improvement.

Speaking at the "Day of America in Belgrade" Conference, Hill said that the United States and Serbia shared more commonalities than differences.

He emphasized the significance of Serbia's pursuit of European integration.

"Despite day-to-day politics and global crises, Serbia manages to rise above and continue its aspirations to join the EU," Hill said.

Hill also commented on the success of Serbian athletes.

"We may not be as good as you in tennis, but we strive for it, and we may not be as good as you in basketball, but we're working on it," Hill remarked.

He highlighted the importance of cooperation between the Ohio National Guard and the Serbian Army, expressing his desire to see even closer collaboration.

Hill noted that Serbia was an inventive country that was undergoing rapid transformation, and he particularly commended Serbia's progress in technological terms. He affirmed that America remained an important partner for Serbia in terms of services and that American companies would continue to operate in Serbia for a long time.

Hill also stated the need for a greater exchange of experiences between ministers of the two countries and that both Serbia and the United States had experienced ups and downs in their long-standing cooperation, however, as he stressed, they should not be burdened by the past.
