In North Mitrovica this morning, the “I Love K. Mitrovica” sign written in Cyrillic, located on King Peter I Street, was removed. Workers have now installed a new sign in Latin script that reads only “Mitrovica,” accompanied by a green-colored heart.

Alongside the word Mitrovica, the new sign also features a heart, now green instead of red, as well as a space where the city’s coat of arms should be.

The sign is being installed by workers from a private company who did not want to speak to journalists.

The sign that was removed earlier today had been put up in August 2020 as part of the second phase of construction of the roundabout at the intersection of King Peter I and Knjaz Milos streets.
