Jarinje crossing reopened after more than three weeks

The Jarinje administrative crossing, which had been closed for entry into Kosovo for over three weeks, was reopened today at 8:40 a.m.

Jarinje was closed on September 24th, after the events in Banjska.

Kosovo's Ministry of Internal Affairs immediately closed the crossings in northern Kosovo on that Sunday.

While exit from Kosovo was possible at the Jarinje and Brnjak crossings, passenger vehicles and even pedestrians were not allowed to enter Kosovo.

The Brnjak administrative crossing was opened to traffic and pedestrians on October 4th, but Jarinje remained closed due to field inspections, as stated by Deputy Commander of the Kosovo Police for the Northern Region, Veton Elshani, at the time.
