Jovanovic: The double game of the West; Kurti's violent actions will not stop
The former Minister of Foreign Affairs of the FR Yugoslavia Zivadin Jovanovic says that, despite the message of NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg that the Kosovo Police consult with KFOR before any action in the north of Kosovo, Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti will not stop provocations and violent actions against the Serbs, Kurir reports.
"Over a long period of time, the tactics of the Western centers of power have been taking shape, with certain structures criticizing the systemic violence of the temporary institutions in Pristina against the Serbs, the militarization of the north, confiscation of property from the Serbs, and the like, and announcing measures and so-called sanctions against Pristina, while, at the same time, another part of these same Western power centers that are in the shadows actually provide cover and even encourage the violent behavior of Kurti and Pristina structures," Jovanovic said.
He added that a double game tactic is currently at work.
"That's why I am convinced that the American, German, and British centers will not be able to restrain Kurti and his further actions against the Serbs and Serbia," Jovanovic said explicitly.
Predrag Rajic from the Center for Social Stability is of the same opinion.
"Kurti's regime will continue with provocations. The Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija must remain united and in agreement with Belgrade. The situation is complex and will obviously remain so in the coming period," Rajic said.
Referring to Stoltenberg's statement, Suzana Grubjesic from the Center for Foreign Policy indicates that it is obvious that the current authorities, led by Kurti, neither respect nor recognize previous agreements with Belgrade, and that the only goal is to intimidate the Serbs in the north and maintain constant instability.
"The intrusion of Special Forces into the empty factory 'Lola', which has not been working for years, only a day after Stoltenberg's statement is more an expression of the powerlessness of the one who orders such senseless actions, because support for Pristina in international circles is further reduced precisely because of irrational behavior and non-cooperation. I expect that KFOR continue to fulfill its mission until full de-escalation in the north, in order to continue the dialogue and the process of normalization of relations," Grubjesic said.
