Former MP Ljubomir Maric told Kosovo Online that Self-determination's actions in the Kosovo Assembly yesterday were yet another indication of the extreme nationalism they direct against anyone with a Serbian name.

“Yesterday, we witnessed a performance by Self-determination, acting as a fascist movement. They are not content with the daily oppression they impose on ordinary people using long rifles and what amounts to military operations, not just in the four municipalities in the north but across the entire territory of Kosovo and Metohija. They are not satisfied with the fact that Serbs persist in living in their ancestral homes, and they were bothered by the appearance of Serb List MPs in the Assembly. In a nervous, undemocratic, and outright barbaric manner, they sought to expel and remove Serbs from the Assembly, violating all rules, principles, and democratic norms,” Maric stated.

He points out that the President of the Kosovo Assembly, Glauk Konjufca, attempted to prevent Serb List MPs from verifying their mandates, a process that must be renewed every six months to retain parliamentary seats.

“What bothers them is that Serbs still live in their ancestral homes, in Kosovska Mitrovica, Zubin Potok, and Zvecan, despite all the oppression. They want to see them outside the administrative line, in central Serbia. They do not want to see them in so-called Kosovo, which they regard as their republic. In reality, they are simply revealing their intention to create a ‘Greater Albania,’” Maric assessed.

He reiterated that Self-determination’s actions yesterday were yet another demonstration of extreme nationalism directed, as he put it, at anyone with a Serbian name.
