Muhaxhiri: Kurti’s decision regarding the Law on Foreigners will slightly improve his image in Brussels

Political analyst Artan Muhaxhiri assessed for Kosovo Online that Albin Kurti made a realistic decision regarding the Law on Foreigners that pragmatically bypasses many problems, both for the Serbian community and for himself, as it represents a golden middle.

Muhaxhiri says the decision has not been revoked, but has in some way been postponed, which gives the Serbian community enough time to deal with these legal requirements in a more relaxed manner.

“The decision of Prime Minister Albin Kurti is realistic and pragmatically bypasses many problems, both for the Serbian community and for Prime Minister Kurti himself, because it represents a golden middle. Therefore, it is not about revoking the decision, but only postponing it. However, this gives the Serbian community enough time to face these legal requirements in a more relaxed way,” he said.

Muhaxhiri points out that with this realistic and pragmatic decision, Kurti will slightly improve his image in Brussels.

“Prime Minister Kurti had previously taken a strong position toward the demands of the European Union, but he himself realized that it only brought him isolation and deepened the gap with the European Union. Also, considering the major geopolitical and geostrategic developments today, such as the situations in Iran, Gaza Strip, and Ukraine, I think Kurti realized in a more meaningful way that his previous approach was wrong and, fortunately, changed it for the better, both for himself and for Kosovo,” Muhaxhiri said.
