The Office for Kosovo and Metohija stated that unknown persons broke the entrance doors of the Serbian clinic in the village of Banjska near Vucitrn.

As they state, a scene of scattered glass and damage was found by a clinic worker who came to work this morning.

“This is the only Serbian clinic in this Serbian enclave, which serves several dozen Serbian families, mostly elderly people, who are in greatest need of medical assistance. The villagers are concerned and outraged by such an act and are asking whether this is a message that they are unwanted here,” the statement reads.

They add that representatives of the Office visited the scene of the incident and will repair the damage as soon as possible and restore the clinic to function, so that the Serbian population does not suffer the consequences of such actions.

“This case is a continuation of an anti-Serb campaign by Albanian extremists directed against Serbs and Serbian institutions in Kosovo and Metohija, which clearly points to the level of hatred and intolerance, with the clear aim of making life and survival of the Serbian people in the southern province impossible. We are witnessing that the authorities in Pristina, through their anti-Serb actions and rhetoric of hatred, are inciting such incidents and spreading ethnic intolerance,” and they add:

“Therefore, it is necessary to raise the level of security in Serbian areas in Kosovo and Metohija, which must be ensured by representatives of international missions, and for the perpetrators of this act to be found as soon as possible and adequately sanctioned, in order to put an end to such and similar outbursts of violence,” the Office for Kosovo and Metohija concludes.
